On Saturday November 16th 2013, our community celebrated a special moment for Bro. Hery Junianto, SX. It was the moment for him to profess his Perpetual Vows and to commit himself totally for mission in the Xaverian family. The event took place in St. Francis Xavier Parish run by Xaverian Missionaries in the diocese of Novaliches in the Philippines. The mass was presided by Fr. Luigi Menegazzo, General Superior of Xaverian Congregation. In the end of the celebration, Fr. Aldo, the Rector of Xaverian Theologate in the Philippines thanked all the people who have contributed in one way or another to the missionary formation of the Xaverian brothers living in the Xaverian Theologate of Asia. In his thanksgiving address, the rector explained the decision of the community to cancel the “salo-salo” previously planned after the mass; the intention was to donate the expenses for the catering to the victims of Samar and Leyte, and sharing also the sufferings of the people struck by the typhoon. This is was done to express solidarity to our Filipino Brothers and sisters and to assure them that we keep praying for them.
Let us pray for Bro. Hery who has just surrendered the rest of his life for mission. We entrust also to the Lord our brothers and sisters struck by the typhoon, so that God may awaken more generous people to come to their aid.
