The end of August is always a moment of great excitement for our community because it is around this time that the new brothers arrive. This year as well, we have gladly welcomed five of them who – inspired by San Gudio Conforti – are joining our community to journey together for the sake of Mission. By now, our community is formed by people from seven different countries, seriously striving to go beyond one’s own cultural background so to be true to what we often repeat to each other: “Our International Theologate is called to be a witness to the universality of the Christian message!” We, who have been in this community for a longer time, assure Antoine, Edgar, Evandro, Theodore and Ulrich, that we are with them ready to accompany and support them through all the changes and inevitable challenges that are waiting for them! For all of us, the demanding but necessary process of adjustment and inculturation, through the learning language process, theological studies, community life and apostolic activity constitute what we call “training” to be missionaries from NOW (and not only “future” missionaries). We welcome them with joy to the Philippines!
Let each one of them introduce briefly themselves to all of you!
